Ann Hayes is a talented local artist who recently organized a silent art auction at Becky's, a popular bar and artists' hangout near Cleveland State. Her mixed media painting, 100 YEAR TREE was my favorite work in the auction, but there were so many great pieces -- all by local artists from the Hyacinth Lofts. There were paintings, glass plates and bowls, light boxes and feminist embroideries -- all with very low starting bids.
