FLETCHER MILLER DISCUSSES WIND ENERGY AT CASESubmitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 02/22/2007 - 16:07.
02/23/2007 - 15:00 02/23/2007 - 16:30 Etc/GMT-5 Fletcher J. Miller, Ph.D. National Center for Space Exploration Research Case Western Reserve University Abstract In the last decade harnessing wind energy for electrical power production has moved well beyond its origins in California and is now being applied in many other states and countries. Of all the sustainable energy technologies, wind power is the most likely to have the earliest impact on reducing the growth rate of carbon dioxide emissions due to its relatively low cost and mature status. This presentation will describe recent changes in the global outlook for wind energy, including advances in turbines, and then detail what is being done to bring more wind turbines and wind turbine manufacturing to Ohio. Ideas for future research on wind energy will also be given. Friday, February 23, 2007 3:30 – 4:30 pm The Zahn Lecture Hall (Glennan 421) Please join us for refreshments at 3:00 p.m. Location

Must do for wind
This sounds great - I definitely want to attend. How does this event fit in with the Wind Working Group, Cleveland Foundation, etc. - is this from, endorsed or sponsored by the establishment or is this independent?
