Finally some good news for Cle - a reduction in air traffic pollution from Hopkins

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 02/05/2014 - 10:49.

Airports are the largest air pollution generator in a community - larger than many coal fired power plants.    And the noise from airport landings and take offs reduces the quality of life (and sleep) for millions of people around the airport.

Air travel is the least energy efficient mode of transportation.

Airports depress housing values and thus depress tax revenues for airport communities.

Harvesting COLD

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 01/26/2014 - 20:08.

Ever been to an ice harvest?

Harvesting COLD

To use next summer.

We need to re-invent the past.

Today, in July and August we just burn train car loads of coal to produce CO2 and electricity for our air conditioners.

Today we are SMART!  Today we're GREEN!

What do Chris Christie and Rob Ford have in common? They're Toast

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 01/11/2014 - 19:25.

It is inconcievable to me that Gov. Christie was not in the loop.

Come on.  One of the best "practical jokes" I have ever heard of...

Lane closures to teach the unsupportive mayor.

Practical jokes don't go undiscussed...that's the fun part...backslapping each other and snorting in laughter about the practical joke.

We had practical jokes at work - everyone knew about the jokes, including the management.

Night Out - Living the Shopping Cart Lifestyle

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 12/18/2013 - 17:41.

When you live the shopping cart lifestyle, you don't need to remember your front door key when you leave your cart.

You don't need to worry about rent either.   Just find a park or some public property and your life's belongings are probably going to be alright for a few hours.

In America you have a lot of options on how to live!

America - land of shopping cart opportunity

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 12/14/2013 - 12:20.

In Ohio recycling beer and beverage containers is light work - because in Ohio  aluminum cans are only recovered for their weight as aluminum.  In other states recycling is done to recover the five cent or 10 cent "deposit" per beverage container - whether the container is aluminum or glass.     This means that  the can man's load is a lot heavier out of Ohio than in Ohio.

Trash and Litter as FREE Advertising

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 11/24/2013 - 20:52.

If every day my neighbor threw his coffee cup with his name on it in my bushes along the public sidewalk in front of my house I could sue him and prevail.

But if my neighbor sold coffee in mugs with my neighbor's name on the mug, and the the mug ended up everyday in my bushes along the public sidewalk in front of my house I couldn't sue him and prevail.

If only I could paint....!

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 11/09/2013 - 21:59.

Now there are not too many things other people have that I am jealous of or covet...

I can wield a camera around pretty handily, but, I certainly wish I could paint like Jane.

This is a painting of her veterinarian - with a small Norman Rockwell imitation scene thrown in at the lower RH corner right in front of the pointing hand .
