Coincidence or global warming? The rhubarb I planted last year has justed started to come up and already I have had to water it. Look at the soil and you might think we are experiencing a late summer draught.

realneo Seed and Plant Swap

Submitted by Evelyn Kiefer on Mon, 03/29/2010 - 02:19.

Would any Realneo members like to participate in a seed and plant swap? I would be happy to host. Please post your thoughts on possible dates and times. We could also include garden tools and other gardeing related items if people are interested.

I do not recommend anyone do anything they believe may be remotely illegal on realNEO, Ever!

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 03/28/2010 - 02:44.

There has been a great deal of anti-community if not illegal Troll activity on realNEO, since it's beginning. What Internet activity is "illegal" and what are the consequences are increasingly being defined by new terms in society and the courts, like cyber-sex crimes, cyber-harassment, cyber-terrorism, and cyber-stalking, as early cases of attacks over the Internet against individuals and society are working their ways up the legal systems in America, and around the world, to supreme levels.

Art of the Night: Ronald Bladen, "Light Year" in the Dark

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Fri, 03/26/2010 - 02:30.

Since Evelyn featured as Art of the Day the Ronald Bladen "Light Year" sculpture, recently installed near Kelvin Smith Library, on the Campus of Case Western Reserve University, and I hadn't seen it yet, I thought I'd see how it looked in the dark.

Minimalist art should look good in the dark!

This sculpture, LIGHT YEAR, 1979 painted aluminum, 80" x 156" x 19," was acquired Fall 2009 and installed near Kelvin Smith Library on the Campus of Case Western Reserve University. It is best viewed on foot, but you can catch a glimpse of it from East Boulevard over the entrance to the parking garage by Severance Hall. Ronald Bladen (Canadian born American 1918-1988) was long considered one of the most important Minimalist artists but his oeuvre has since been reassessed. In this site LIGHT YEAR seems to be about more than form. See for youself.

Welcome to my life... I get these sort of hater emails and attacks every day

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 03/22/2010 - 18:00.

Welcome to my life... I get these sort of hater emails and attacks every day.

Here is the personal attack from Alien2 against me, with my response... Alien2 is not blocked, and no member of realNEO has been blocked unless openly spamming - Tim Russo is not blocked!

My email to Alien2, in response to his attack against me, below:

Mothray - there has been significant cyber-harassment on realNEO and there are investigators involved so I wouldn't take such things lightly, until your family is attacked.

As you are anonymous that won't happen to you - it happens to my family daily because of realNEO. In some cases our home has been physically attacked. Do you not consider that serious.

In approaching 30 years of living and dying as an entrepreneur, I can say that to choose this path in life is to choose to be treated like a dog, by everybody... unless you make a fortune. That said, it is a better life than that of cattle and sheep. And, like Lassie, an entrepreneur may truly save the day.

Question of the Day: Should ICEarth Be Developed In Real NEO Or Elsewhere In The World?

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Thu, 03/11/2010 - 02:03.

It is stunning to me to realize I have sitting on my desk next to me right now the ICEarth Bigbang One - one of the world's fastest personal supercomputers - developed and assembled with true genius right here in Northeast Ohio, by a homegrown team including some of the world's best open source programmers - and, tomorrow we are launching an even faster laptop supercomputer - it appears the fastest laptop ever in the world - running all open source software and a special distro of Linux - ICEarth Linux - designed to transform information management for all citizens of the world...

...and to grow ICEarth as an enterprise, now, I may need to relocate all this from Northeast Ohio, because of our leaders' lack of understanding of and appreciation for our real NEO innovations and our contributions to the new economy.

A supercomputer is a computer that is at the frontline of current processing capacity

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 03/09/2010 - 04:40.

From Wikipedia: A supercomputer is a computer that is at the frontline of current processing capacity, particularly speed of calculation. Today, supercomputers are typically one-of-a-kind custom designs produced by "traditional" companies such as Cray, IBM and Hewlett-Packard, who had purchased many of the 1980s companies to gain their experience. As of July 2009, the Cray Jaguar is the fastest supercomputer in the world.

If there is a song beautiful and powerful and haunting enough to steal, this is it. But buy it instead...

I love our home boys BTNH and this song - but are we stealing from bone by putting their content places like here, vie YouTube?

Shortly after I first got online, like 15 years ago, I searched for anything from Northeast Ohio of interest to me, and Pere Ubu immediately stood-out at the forefront of the new economy - not just for Northeast Ohio but for the world of music - with what was at that time already the near-perfect website, by my assessment: Ubu Projex - the art and business affairs directorate of Pere Ubu and related projex.

Tonight's The Night: How Real Fans May Enhance Musicians' Power In The New Economy

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Wed, 03/03/2010 - 01:06.

No doubt one of my favorite artists ever is Neil Young - one of the greats I've never seen. So, I greatly appreciated finding relatively recent live video footage of him performing one of my favorite songs ever - "Tonight's the Night" - in Birmingham, England, sounding better than ever. I love this version, even with audio flaws and crowd noise present. Neil Young never sounded better! Unbelievable - I am going to find a way to see him before I die, now.

Thank you Claude06890 - The Ropey Old Pirate Show on YouTube - based in Birmingham, for making this experience possible, by paying to attend this Neil Young concert in England, recording it on a simple video device, and sharing it with the world... along with 6 other Neil Young video clips, now viewed a total of over 60,000 times around the world... along with the 300+ other great, original concert clips you have provided the world, from Birmingham - sharing over 2 years of your musical experiences with us here, in real NEO. I couldn't afford the airfare, so no harm done to Neil Young, for sure.

That is the power of the internet working for a musician.

NEO ER Discussion of the Day: We have a realNEO/COOP Legal Issue Members Must Address Immediately

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 03/02/2010 - 16:47.

It is time to revive the NEO Excellence Roundtable, now virtual.

As our first discussion of the day, what are we going to do about children on realNEO - and in real coop?

I want them here and welcome my children as members - and swear as little as possible in respect.

As per our terms of use, my children have my permission to be here. I want them here, learning from all of us - seeing our great work - adding to the intellectual property and building a good virtual existence for each of themselves - I know we are the future of IT and I want them here at our birth.
