ward14resident's blogSchool Challenge for ExcellenceSubmitted by ward14resident on Fri, 02/19/2010 - 19:34.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/commencement I found this on Facebook and want to pass it on here on RealNeo. If anyone knows a high school that is deserving to have President Obama give the Commencement speech please enter this competition. Personally I think he would do better to speak at the worst school and attempt to motivate that school to achieve. Maybe next time. But, for now if you know of a school that meets the requirements please encourage that school to enter. Thanks.
ACORNSubmitted by ward14resident on Fri, 02/05/2010 - 21:18.
ACORN has been deducting $10 from my checking account for a few years now. In November, 2009 I attempted to contact ACORN to stop the deductions but I have not been able to contact the organization by telephone and my emails have gone unanswered. The $10 deduction has continued since November and it was again deducted from my checking account this month, February. So since November, ACORN as deducted $40 from my account against my will. I even contacted the Better Business Bureau in an attempt to get the deduction stopped, to no avail.

How I plan to pay for the new garbage feeSubmitted by ward14resident on Wed, 12/09/2009 - 06:15.
Garbage collection is more important than reading the Plain Dealer so I just canceled my newspaper subscription to pay for the garbage fee. I was hoping our council members would vote against this fee but that didn't happen so the only alternative for me to make ends meet is to cancel something else that costs money. Since I recently opened my upstairs apartment to my granddaughter who is currently working as a caregiver for my daughter's father-in-law who has Parkinson's disease so his wife can continue working full time at a nursing home as a medical records technician, I
Boarding up houses for drug activitySubmitted by ward14resident on Mon, 11/30/2009 - 19:11.
Does anyone know what the rules are for boarding up houses due to drug activity? I just learned that a home that was busted for drug activity twice was not boarded up because the home was one of the nicer homes on the street and boarding it up would decrease the value of the other homes on the street. This decision seems wrong to me as allowing drug activity to go unpunished just encourages drug activity to continue in our community. I am opposed to this decision and wonder how many other homes that are well kept are being used as drug houses.

Lincoln High School areaSubmitted by ward14resident on Fri, 08/21/2009 - 20:02.
The area around Lincoln High School, in Cleveland, Ohio, near Meyer Avenue did not have as much trash thrown about today, August 21, 2009 as it did on Sunday, and I was happy to see the improvement. Someone must have been out there cleaning the area. I was able to recruit my husband and my son to help me pick up trash in the area. We removed about a garbage bag and a half of trash from the area. The parking lot of Lincoln West had a lot of broken glass on the pavement, and weeds were growing around the lot. Not a pretty site for a public school prope Noise barrier walls discussion or put downs?Submitted by ward14resident on Sat, 08/15/2009 - 16:30.
Okay, I am upset. I was communicating with someone who is against noiser barrier walls and this is a reply I received. And when I tried to reply to this post I found the facebook thread was missing and my message was undeliverable. So much for communication. The message I received is posted below:
