TOWER TECH IN MANITOWOC, WISCONSIN FABS WIND TURBINE TOWERSSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 02/13/2007 - 17:48.
Investors in Manitowoc have ponied up about 60 million to outfit an old steel fabrication facility with new equipment to weld up wind turbine towers. They intend to produce about one tower every 2 days from material supplied by the wind turbine manufacturer. ( categories: )

"Industrial wind, corporate vandalism" Another conscientious viewSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/11/2007 - 15:58.
Here http://www.aweo.org/Lake.html is another viewpoint on wind turbines which I take seriously, in particular regarding the inconsistent bi-polar goals of corporations and the need for conservation. I can't give credit to the author because though I Googled I can't get back to original newspaper publication. Please post author if anyone can.

HOW TO SHIFT TRAFFIC FROM one URL TO ANOTHER URLSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/10/2007 - 16:27.
One way to move traffic seamlessly to a new different url is to set up a redirect on the first site, but that means the redirecting server must be active and cooperative. If one has a copy of all the data on the redirecting server, including the logs of the IP numbers of the computers that have hit the site in the past, can those IP numbers be used to get out the message that there is a re-direct? ART is very, very often inspired by, and often expresses, the physical environment within which the artist works/lives. Few painters paint the North or South Pole, of course, few live or work there. ( categories: )

C.FNDTN. TALKS WATER WIND - HULL DOES LAND WINDSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/04/2007 - 15:27.
When I read Ed Morrison's "too much money in your wallet" (so blow it with Super Bowl ads) on RealNeo today, Ed's discussion got me thinking about incremental change vs dramatic radical change. The Cleveland Foundation’s President Ronn Richard and the Foundation’s energy advisor Richard Stuebi want Cleveland to be the first City in the US to have “about 10 wind turbines 3 miles out in Lake Erie”. On January 18, 2007, Mr Richard spoke to the public about the Foundation’s turbine installation aspirations at Levin Urban College at CSU. In the public discussion period following Mr.

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 02/01/2007 - 16:29.
…. Frenetic freeways 247365, $200,000,000.00 (that's 2 HUNDRED MILLION PER FLYOVER!) flyovers where they intersect, sinuous succulents, restaurant food warnings, smog industry, surf board sign baton twirlers (sandwich board signs are passé) , cypress shored turquoise beaches, stretch limo woodies, exotic yellow, fuchsia, purple flowers, cactus, and cars, cars, pickups, cars, SUVS, cars… [The image above is a collage of 16 separate 2 megapixel JPEG photos taken last week in SoCal . Each image is dragged onto a checker board - like display on the computer monitor, and then blended by Arcsoft’s “tile” panorama program. The challenge with the program is to understand its edge blending algorithms – usually the part of the image that you prefer to display is wiped out in the automatic blending process. So,. like checkers or chess, you have to move your images around and around the board until you obtain your preferred expression. Any suggestions for similar collage software which allows more user control?] ( categories: )

VUE 9:00 FRIDAYS FOR LATIN DANCESubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 07/18/2006 - 16:09.
On the last stage venue open on Sunday at Ingenuity Fest Steve Anthony and his partner enjoyed each other's subtle tactile guidance through a sophisticated repertoire on the asphalt street - which included a very smooth under and between the legs pass for her. Asked by the band to come up on stage with another dancing pair already performing, I found a heightened tension in the couple politics – the new to the stage floor very alpha female is dance tested by the male already on stage – then back to her original partner. Sexist perhaps, nontheless Pretty cool. Got a better idea?
