angle no more

Our information society is in a state of flux.  I am sad that angle's demise had to be a part of the change.  The challenge will be to maintain any local print publication format.  If you can help change the model for a reincarnation of ANGLE magazine please mail a hardcopy proposal to Janus Small, Janus Small Associates, 3220 Green Rd. Cleveland OH 44122 or email your proposal to hollychrist [at] gmail [dot] com.

I panicked

I panicked for a minute--I thought you were talking about the restaurant on West 25th...the ones with the big windows that open to the street.

Beer

Don't worry Tim, you can always stumble out of your house to the Ugly Broad. And, the OLD Angle Tavern is alive and well.  Just joking, of course. If I am allowed to joke? We would never allow the taps to dry in this town.

the Ugly

I hear that Sherry at the U.B. has a few new tables and will be applying to the city to be able to open for business on the sidewalk. Some of the locals artists are volunteering to help with the decor, the finishes, and the surface applications.

Proposing a Proposal

I just might do that. Thanks for the information, and Tim, if you'd like to help with our Ingenuity for East Cleveland work, (or even those financial models you'd discussed prior) let's discuss.  It sounds like an intriguing learning experience and opportunity to flex some long underused (MBA) finance flexors.

Not to belittle

To mention beer is not meant to belittle the plight of angle magazine, but I know our audience---meaning northeast Ohio.  Beer is more of a draw than art.  It's a given.  So, where do art aficionados look to for their fix?  As a monthly with a limited distribution and limited online presence, angle was somewhat doomed from the start.  But it did have original and intelligent voices in the writings and art coverage of Douglas Max Utter, Amy Sparks and Dan Tranberg.   Norm--I have to say that your site and Susan and Evelyn and others have picked up the ball.  Is there any way to fund arts writers for their work????  What type of collaboratives  can be conceived?  Where does CIA fit into the picture??  CIA's website needs work--ditto CMA, CIM, Cleveland Orchestra and UCI.  Mark Hopkins just restarted the Cleveland Reader.  See an opportunity to merge?  Today's Crain's Cleveland has an article entitled "Nonprofits pondering pairing."  I will link to the article as soon as it is archived, but any ideas out there????
