INTERNET FACILITATES PUBLIC WILL AROUND THE WORLD, AND IN CLEVELAND, OHIO WITH BREUER

George Nemeth, over on Fresh Brewed Daily, has picked up this bellweather post which has the metrics on blog discussions re topics of local interest around the US.   The blog index is a new and, I believe, very important statistic.

Cleveland may not be the home to many fortune 500 companies anymore, but Cleveland is still intellectually and civically active as evidenced by the robust discussion about the Marcel Breuer designed Ameritrust Tower.

And the butts of all the discussion are Cuyahoga County Commissioners Tim Hagan and Jimmy Dimora.  Too geriatric to blog, and too ignorant to appreciate the Breuer – but they are the masters of NEO!

Head’s up folks, the rest of the world is watching….let’s only burn the river once, OK?

Can't take credit

It was Jeff Schuler who did that post.

Nice to see new contributors to BFD

Today in a moment passing by the laptop, I noticed that Bill MacDermott's and Jeff Schuler's posts appeared at BFD. Nice to see the eyes widening there where the coffee has had a strong flavor of other town's ED ideas lately. Not that I am not interested, but it is nice to see BFD getting back to a broader set of topics.

I'll keep looking for the post (I will someday write) about the need for appropriate and well working infrastructure for NEO as a community building ED idea.

Oh...we tend to get used to the crap and don't even think about the possibilities that improving on what we already have could bring like the simple stuff -- like fewer potholes, more public transit (with a good trip planner like trimet in Portland and wifi on the trains), clean water and air, safety and education (and a host of other stuff I am too tired to think of right now).

Infrastructure

We need that discussion now.  Seriously, now.
