Whiskey Island, Lake Erie and in ways Cleveland and NEO at the most beautiful

One of my favorite places in NEO is Whiskey Island... a public park owned by Cuyahoga County, thanks to County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora and local citizen activist Ed Hauser. One reason I love the place is it is home of the national historic landmark J. Milton Dyer Coast Guard station at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River, which has been neglected by the former owner, real estate developer Dick Jacobs, and now the current owner the city of Cleveland. Still, a beautiful image set to the surrounding of spectacular snow drifted ice covered Lake Erie.

Most rightious photo Norm!

Great shot.     Now if I could only figure out how to upload to the main page vs. enviro!

It is really beautiful now on Whiskey Island

I strongly recommend taking a walk out on Whiskey Island while it is blanketed in this beautiful snow (although even two days ago there was a layer of black dust forming on top of the snow). We're supposed to get a few more inches, which will touch things up - great adventure for Presidents Day. Bring skies and pack down a trail. Or wear very tall boots and warm clothes and explore. But don't expect to go on the river ice, because the river is flowing free!
