On April 5th, 2008, the Fine Arts Department presented a program of classical guitar by performers Jonathan Godfrey and Benjamin Kunkel, both Master of Music candidates at the Cleveland Institute of Music. The music performed featured solo guitar works by Scarlatti, Sor, Villa-Lobos, Torroba, Mangoré, and Brindle. If you happened to miss this great performance, the Fine Arts Department did record the event. Here are two MP3 files you can listen to and download:

Muse and Muses
Wow--thank you Michael. Who says that men can't be muses? Not me. While listening to your recording, I had this great idea--self locking bicycles?? Why hasn't it been done, yet?? Along with the non-deflating tire idea, a self-locking bike would be my dream bike. Not to rub it in, but I got to swim yesterday and enjoy the sunshine. Only thing was it took me a while to find my bike lock.
So, speaking of muses and MUSE, and what you may have missed--in the magazine put out by the Lit, Cleveland's poetry center--I saw this fabulous resource at Kent--the Wick Poetry Center. Calling all poets--get your book published and win $2,000.
Entry deadline is May 1, 2008
This prize is offered annually to a poet who has not previously published a ful-length collection of poems. the winning volume will be published by The Kent State University Press in Fall 2009. The winner will give a reading with Stephen Dunn, the 2008 judge of the the competition.

The 2007 winner was Far from Algiers by Djelloul Marbrook. After searching for the book on the poetry site and more effectively at the Wick Center blog, I conclude that it has not been catalogued. Is this a job for a cataloger???
