CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Detectives are investigating a possible kidnapping and rape reported to have occurred at a Tremont bar Sunday morning.

According to the initial report made to patrol officers:

A 31-year-old woman went to Lincoln Park Pub early Sunday to meet with a friend. A bartender told her there was a 3-drink minimum, and the woman remembers drinking two drinks, while she talked with the bartender and a man seated next to her.

She then woke up about 5 a.m. in a plastic chair behind the building. Her hands were tied behind her back. Her shirt was pulled down and her skirt was pushed up. Her underwear was pulled down around her thighs, she said.

She had a cut on her left knee and what looked like bite marks on her breasts. There were marks on her wrists. Her purse was open and her phone and some of her prescribed pain medication, oxycodone, was gone, she said.

The woman, who lives in Tremont, was able to get out of the chair. She wandered across the street to a neighborhood store and came across a woman named Kathy, who walked her home.

Kathy told police that the woman was incoherent as she walked home.

The woman then went to Parma Hospital and was sent to Fairview Hospital, where specially-trained nurses collected evidence in a rape kit.

The woman drove home and called police at 7 a.m. Officers searched behind the building and did not find rope or anything that could have been used to bind the woman's wrists.

The Sex Crimes Unit is investigating. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 216-623-5630.
