Goodrich Corp - doing it's fair share to help close Cleveland

Goodrich Corporation announced on June 8, that it's Cleveland landing gear production facility would be closed in 2012 "due to program volume decline and the lack of appropriate new work to cost-effectively fill available capacity".  

While city and county taxpayers (and philanthropies) pay for "economic development" programs and constantly announce "progress" - the truth is that another 400 jobs are leaving NEO, and the local economy is continuing - as it has since the 1960's - to go down the drain.

There is something wrong here, something unspoken.  

What are the real reasons long established factories in Cleveland are still closing?
