Goodrich Corporation announced on June 8 [1], that it's Cleveland landing gear production facility would be closed in 2012 "due to program volume decline and the lack of appropriate new work to cost-effectively fill available capacity".
While city and county taxpayers (and philanthropies) pay for "economic development" programs and constantly announce "progress" - the truth is that another 400 jobs are leaving NEO, and the local economy is continuing - as it has since the 1960's - to go down the drain.
There is something wrong here, something unspoken.
What are the real reasons long established factories in Cleveland are still closing?
