The American Solar Energy Society
ASES is a national membership organization dedicated to advancing the use of solar energy for the benefit of U.S. citizens and the global environment. ASES promotes the widespread near- and long-term use of solar energy.
ASES publishes SOLAR TODAY, an award-winning bimonthly magazine that covers all renewable energy technologies. Regular topics include building case studies, energy policy and community-scale projects; The Sunbeam, a free, bimonthly electronic newsletter covering news about what's happening around the renewable energy community; Advances in Solar Energy, an Annual Review of Research and Development, written by recognized experts and depended on by solar energy experts, utilities and industry professionals, educators and researchers, and others who need the latest solar technology information; and ASES Policy Statements, summarizing the latest solar energy research results and making policy recommendations to local, state and federal decisionmakers.
ASES organizes and presents the National Solar Conference, the largest and most comprehensive annual solar conference in the United States; and in conjunction with its state and regional chapters and other local organizations, the National Solar Tour, which opens thousands of homes and buildings throughout the country to provide the public with an opportunity to experience solar power, solar heating, cooling, and hot-water, wind power, daylighting, and green building technologies.

Green Energy Ohio
Green Energy Ohio (GEO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting environmentally and economically sustainable energy policies and practices in Ohio. GEO is the Ohio Chapter of the American Solar Energy Society.
GEO organizes the Renew Ohio! Speakers' Bureau - an effort to educate local citizens and policy makers on renewable energy applications and their benefits to communities across Ohio. The program is operated through the use of volunteer speakers recruited to engage communities in dialogues on clean energy practices. The goal of the program is to reach individuals in all 88 Ohio counties during 2006, and to identify at least one renewable energy application in all 88 Ohio counties during 2007.
GEO, as a part of the National Solar Tour, organizes the Ohio Solar Tour, which is a clean energy journey held across the Buckeye state. Encompassing sustainable features beyond solar energy, the statewide event features self-guided, guided or open house tours in all corners of the state and highlights a growing list of over 200 sites with solar, wind, biomass, green design and energy-saving technologies. GEO produces an Ohio Renewable Energy Resource Magazine featuring case studies on renewable energy applications, a primer on the Ohio Solar Tour, and a directory of professionals & incentives to make clean energy work for you.
GEO helped to establish and participates in the Ohio Clean Energy Business Association (OCEBA) bringing the state's renewable energy manufacturers and providers together; and the Ohio Wind Working Group, comprised of key stakeholders interested in smart and successful wind energy development in the State of Ohio.
