Concert & lecture Beethoven: His Music & His Mind Speaker: Richard Kogan, M.D.

Richard Kogan, M.D. is a respected psychiatrist and acclaimed concert pianist. His performance will begin at 8:00 PM and will be followed by a dessert reception with him at 9:30 PM. Dr. Kogan will play the following selections from the work of Beethoven:
Sonata #6 Opus 10 #2 in F
Sonata #23 Opus 57 in F minor (Appassionata)
Sonata #31 Opus 110 in A flat.
Using these works, Dr. Kogan will discuss Beethoven's stylistic periods as well as psychological forces that influenced the composer's development and evolution as an artist.
