Mark Coticchia is Vice President for Research and Technology Management at Case where he has responsibility for coordinating Case's research agenda and technology commercialization priorities.

Prior to joining Case, Mark was Senior Director of Redleaf Group, Inc., an early stage venture capital firm. As part of the senior management team based in Pittsburgh, his responsibilities included the development and management of global University Technology Transfer/Incubator Operation that included seed level investment activities.

From 1997-2000, Mr. Coticchia was Director of Technology Transfer at Carnegie Mellon University where he was responsible for the management of the function whose mission is to lead the successful commercialization of ideas created by people at Carnegie Mellon by enlisting the forces of free enterprise and entrepreneurship, through licensing and by facilitating the start-up of new companies. He continues to serve as adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon.

He also serves on the board of directors and advisory boards of several high technology companies and not-for-profit organizations, including NineSigma, The Generation Foundation, Northeast Ohio Technology Council and Ohio Supercomputer Center.

Mark is the author of three books that address technical management issues, as well as numerous articles on interactive graphics, CAD/CAM systems and the management of automated systems. He currently serves as editor of the Marcel Dekker, Inc. book series, Computer-Aided Engineering.

Mark spoke to OVA shortly after he joined the Case team, and this will be a great opportunity for OVA members and guests to be updated.
