I have given myself to watching videos to educate myself about todays concerns. Here is my recent recommended play list.
Power Shift, Energy + Sustainability, hosted by Cameron Diaz
An Inconvenient Truth, by Al Gore
Big Ideas for a Small Planet, by Sundance Channel
After I was scared to death by "An Inconvenient Truth" , I was inspired and encouraged by "Big Ideas for a Small Planet". We can turn this around and create a renewed economy based of green energy, sustainable resources and products and a big change in how we deal with our short time on earth. I would like to play Big Ideas over and over again until I get it. This is way, way beyond tree huggin.
Liquid Assets
Proud to say CPL/Clevnet has the dvd for Big Ideas for a Small Planet (not at the main competitor), but the link from Worldcat is bad, so go to http://www.cpl.org and type in the title.
CPL needs Liquid Assets, too. I am on it.
Frontline - Heat
"Heat" which aired on PBS's Frontline this week adds aspects of the current political race and he candidates platforms to the mix.
"Melting glaciers, rising sea levels, fires, floods and droughts. On the eve of a historic election, award-winning producer and correspondent Martin Smith investigates how the world's largest corporations and governments are responding to Earth's looming environmental disaster.
"I have reported on the Cold War, the breakup of the Soviet Union,
the rise of Al Qaeda, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan," says
Smith. "But nothing matches climate change in scope and severity.""
