The Twelfth Annual Tremont Arts and Cultural Festival returns to Lincoln Park. The mission of the Festival is to celebrate the cultural and artistic diversity of Tremont and Greater Cleveland by encouraging the artistic and cultural endeavors of its visual and performing artists.

The weekend Festival is comprised of four categories or program areas which include: Children's-hands-on arts, historical, and educational projects; Community-area non-profit organizations presenting material about their mission and services; Cultural-food sales by Tremont churches, other non-profit organizations, and Tremont restaurants reflecting the ethnic diversity of the neighborhood; and sales of paintings, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and photographs created by Tremont and Northeast Ohio artists.

Artists who are accepted into the Festival through the jurying process (deadline for application TBA) are eligible for consideration by the jurors for the Festival's top three prizes.

The Festival will also have music and dance performances both Saturday and Sunday on one main stage located near Kenilworth Avenue between West 14th Street and West 11th Street.

Admission to the Festival is free. The Festival is sponsored by Merrick House and co-sponsored by Tremont West Development Corp. and Cleveland Ward 3 Councilman Joe Cimperman.  For questions and information contact Festival Manager, Scott Rosenstein, at 216-575-0920 or tremont701 [at] yahoo [dot] com.

HOMEMADE JAMS, JELLIES AND SALSAS

My sister Sandy and I are taking part in the "Tremont Arts and Cultural Festival" but you won't find us at Lincoln Park.

Our tent which is filled with homemade blankets, quilts, pillows, aprons, wedding accessories, homemade jams, jellies and salsas is on Professor Avenue across from St. John Cantius Church and next to the Tree House (corner of College and Professor).

It is what we hope is the beginning of starting an Arts and Crafts event that is affordable to all residents, including low income and fixed income residents.  We could not afford the high price of a space in the park.

So, if you're in the neighborhood stop by and visit us.

That is worth a special trip! Great idea!

We do plan on getting some

We do plan on getting some people together to participate in these events.   My sister and I had a really good couple of days - most of our customers were the Old South Side Tremonters who really appreciate "A Touch of Country."

Will post for the next event and see if we can get some good South Side Business going on.  Affordable tabls, good products, good artists and good people.   Perhaps a Christmas Craft Fair.

We are also thinking of finding a location for a flea market once a month or so.
