our furnace came back once but didn't for about 30 minutes till i went and turned the on  switch to off and on and the blower went on for a minute or so and shut off and a minute later the flames went on and  a minute later the blower with heat -

wind gusts about 50 to 70 miles or more an hour - me and my great service k-9 friend sophia honey yoga went  drove to shopping to steel yards - target store - about 8:30 pm with rain wind gusts about 50 to 70 miles or more or less-

sophia didn't seem to be frighten as she english mastiff hero wanted to go for our regular security and health walk around steel yard center after when ever we go shopping - the wind and rain was to much for me and dangerous but sophia wanted to go but i over ruled her-

Impact of Hurricane Sandy on NEO

Scary times for those of us in NEO-Cleveland Public Power's grid seems to be better maintained than CEI grid. Glad that you are okay now Guy.  We have to work on some serious CERT preparation.  I got power back early this morning after more than 24 hours with no power.

No complaints from me though--I know many have it worse, large apartment buildings in Lakewood are still without power and water.  Cities do have to work on a contact system and shuttle to help seniors especially to get to shelters.

Crisis Management

Sadly-when the power is out, some folks choose to stay in their homes, even as heat and water are unavailable.  Folks are afraid to leave their homes and pets unattended and unguarded and unsecured.

We have to work on identifying manageable communities where we know each other and can defend ourselves when faced with a crisis.  We also have to identify community centers where folks can ride out the storms.  It's coming.  Let's be prepared.
