PETA offers to buy ad space on Cleveland schools lunch trays

nugget_lunch_tray_20120925163840_JPGCLEVELAND - The animal rights group PETA has an interesting solution to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s budget problems: selling ads on school lunch trays.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to CMSD CEO Eric Gordon offering to pay for advertisements that say “I am not a nugget. Go vegan!” with a picture of its chick mascot.

"PETA's proposal is a win-win situation for Cleveland's schools," said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman, in a news release. "The school's budget will get a nudge toward the black, and students will learn an important message about compassion that could also inspire them to start choosing fiber-rich, nutrient-packed vegan meals over artery-clogging meat and dairy products."

In July, the Cleveland school board voted to put a 15 mill levy on the November ballot. The levy would generate $85 million a year, if 100 percent is collected.

But if it fails, the district’s deficit would grow to $50 million, Gordon said. The schools would have to cut another 700 to 800 teachers and staff.

PETA said that every person who switches to a vegan diet would save more than 100 animals a year.

someone toke peta photo & signature off my post put home page

i posted this post with peta photo to my blog - someone edited my said post by taking the peta photo and my signature off the post that they  posted to the home page - i'm happy said post was posted to the home page as its gets many more reads faster but not happy my post was edited without my knowledge or permission and probably it was a mistake - i reposted with peta photo and signature to my blog and request said post be posted to the home page in its entire

Aliens at work

 Hello Guy,

I checked with Admin and they told me that this mischief is just a  Pre-Halloween trick - they think.   

I was relieved to hear that the post was yours, and not an alien's.   

Anyway, as part of the "Wake Up NEO" campaing, it is good to know that you are on top of the situation.

Part of the problem could also be an accident.    MaYbe Admin was using an old version of Firefox when the blog was loaded to the home page, and that old Firefox version didn't fully support the newer Realneo Drupal.
