DebFEE Sutherland Lie List

I thought it would be a good idea to start cataloging the lies falsehoods and fabrications of one DebFEE Sutherland in her attempt to usurp the County Commission seat of Peter Lawson Jones.

Please note: She has help, the "Blame" Dealer is a regular shill for DebFEE to get her message of lies out. They are not to be trusted as an unbiased arbiter or distributor of reputable information.

DebFEE Sutherland Lie #1:

"I was for the sales tax before I was against it and now I am against another sales tax altogether. "

Funny but true and this is all on record in print and video.

First - the support of the MedMart Sales Tax:

Sutherland was one of four suburban mayors who wrote a letter last month stating their support for the project but also
asking that the Cuyahoga County Commissioners dedicate funds raised by the quarter-cent sales tax increase solely to the project and not have any of the funds utilized for other purposes.

A new convention center and related Medical Mart would open in Cleveland, but suburbanites will probably pay most of the cost if a countywide sales tax increase stands. Forty area mayors say they're OK with that.

The ripple effects of the project -- including new jobs and visitors and an improved medical reputation -- will lift the entire region, Bay Village Mayor Deborah Sutherland said.

Sutherland, president of the Mayors and City Managers Association, announced the group's endorsement of the project and tax Thursday.

calls for suspension of med mart sales tax

Cuyahoga County Commissioner candidate Deborah Sutherland is calling for the suspension of the recent sales tax increase - an increase she supported - because the Medical Mart project is moving too slowly.

A year ago, Bay Village Mayor Debbie Sutherland and Cuyahoga County Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones were advocating different financing plans for a convention center and medical mart complex. Now that they’re running against each other in November for a seat on the Board of Commissioners, they’re still on opposite sides of the fence, but they’ve changed places.

Mayor
Sutherland, a Republican, has asked the three commissioners to suspend collection of the one-quarter percentage point convention center sales tax until the commissioners complete a deal to build the convention center and an adjoining medical merchandise mart. She called it “a tax time out.”

Her opponent called that a “flip-flop.”

Dial 911 - Debbie Sutherland "Died" in Debate Against Lawson Jones... PD Editor Goldberg Should Disappear

Submitted by Norm Roulet on September 10, 2008 - 2:06am.

During the Euclid League of Women Voters debate, DebFEE Sutherland said in her closing that she "wanted to make it clear" "that she was in support of the 0.25% sales tax increase for the MedCon, as always, but wanted to eliminate some other 0.25% sales tax... it made no sense at all."

Still waiting for the video to surface on this one but it was in front of 100 people.

Hey DebFEE - sign up for the gymnastics team for the 2012 London Olympics. The amount of complicated twists in this particular routine should get you a medal.

unrealistic and revengeful

my wife and i were at the rocky river debate.my wife spoke to miss sutherland a few months ago and she stated to my wife that she was pretty much running for commisioner of cuyahoga county because she was mad because the county would not give her financing for some project she wanted.one of her constituents was sitting behind me heckling county workers throughout the meeting.if this clown is a reflection of the type of pompus and rude attitude that she would bring into the cuyahoga county administration building she will never last.my wife and i both work hard for are money and will not except or deal with people that snub people who get their hands dirty.her best bet would be to stay in bay village where social climbing is more excepted.mr. jones could of gone anywhere with his experience and credentials but decided to stay and fight for the honor of the democratic party.he is not responsible for what other rogues have done.he needs and deserves your support and votes.
