ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Dresden during the first half of the 18th century experienced a huge influx of resources for the development of the arts. The source for most of this was the Saxon court and the patronage of Friedrich August I of Saxony and his son. Musical resources were developed for the production of operas, all types of sacred music, public court events and private entertainments. This program presents a sample of chamber music by three of the most prominent musicians associated with Dresden. In addition to the voice, this music will be presented on some of the instruments popular at the Dresden court at this time.

Kudos to the Fine Arts Department at Main Library!

I plan on being there and hope that more Cleveland residents take the opportunity to discover and rediscover their fantastic Clevnet library system and the amazing library and institutional talents within our community.
