Join us Thursday, May 1, for the next Midtown Brews with Meet The Bloggers for an open conversation with guest Ben Cipiti, native Clevelander, and author of The Energy Construct. Ben will be joining us via web stream from Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ben has research interests in energy economics, fusion energy, nuclear waste reduction, and nuclear material safeguards. You can send questions and inquiries to info [at] theenergyconstruct [dot] com Ben Cipiti received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio University and PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Energy Construct explores the transformation of our energy economy toward a cleaner future through alternative transportation options, renewable energy, nuclear energy, and clean fossil energy. The Energy Construct establishes an energy strategy for the United States to achieve a clean, domestic, and economical energy future. Our continued reliance on fossil fuels is having drastic consequences to the environment, and our continued reliance on foreign oil threatens our national security and economic well-being. Biofuels, hydrogen, and electric vehicles are examined to find a truly green transportation alternative to oil. The economic challenges of renewable energy options are explored to determine which have the most promise for short and long term growth. A new look at nuclear energy examines its safety compared to other sources. Finally, carbon sequestration technologies are investigated as a way to achieve zero emission coal and natural gas plants. The various technologies are examined from the standpoints of economics, environmental impact, domestic resource potential, public acceptability, and reliability to find a realistic path forward. You can purchase copies of The Energy Construct online. We may be able to have some books available for sale at Midtown Brews for $13.00 each.
