The 2006 Mid-Term Elections Forum, two distinguished Ohio political analysts, Robert R. Dykes and Lee c. Weingart, moderated by Professor Alexander P. Lamis.

Robert R. Dykes is CEO of the Triad Research Group and one of the most respected political consultants in Northeast Ohio. A specialist in survey research, Mr. Dykes regularly advises Democratic candidates for public office and is frequently quoted in the news media. A Case alumnus, he has regularly appeared as a panelist at election forums on our campus for well over a decade.

 

Lee C. Weingart, a former Cuyhoga County commissioner and a prominent Republican, is president of LNE Group, a professional services firm specializing in campaign management and fund-raising. Mr. Weingart's firm has grown from a two-person operation in 2002 to a major Ohio advocacy and lobbying firm with offices in four Ohio cities and Washington. Mr. Weingart, who holds a juris doctor degree from George Washington University National Law Center, became a county commissioner in 1995 at the age of 28.

Professor Alexander P. Lamis of Case's Political Science Department, a specialist on elections and political parties, will moderate the forum.  Dr. Lamis is author of The Two-Party South, 2nd expanded edition (Oxford University Press, 1990), editior of Southern Politics in the 1990s (Louisiana State University Press, 1999), and co-editor of Ohio Politics, 2nd edition (Kent State University Press, forthcoming 2007)

In addition, several studdents from Dr. Lamis's Fall 2006 Mid-Term Elections class will give brief reports on various hotly contested elections from around the nation.
