The end is in sight for funding of Cleveland’s school construction and renovation program.
In the 12 years since voters authorized issuance of $335 million in bonds for the program, the School District has replaced or renewed 34 schools, and six more are under way. Prospects for funding at most three more schools are questionable. After those are completed, at least 18 more school projects remain in the District’s currently effective Master Plan, and other schools not in the Plan will continue to need repairs.
