Yogi was a wonderful dog and led a very happy life with you.

Yogi certainly had a great life with you and is a powerful presence in any state - even more powerful now.

I'm sorry for your loss. There is another great soul out there looking for a change of worlds with you.

does the dog already need to be a service dog or can the dog be trained by Guy?

It has been so long since my dog died. He was my first and only dog. I had him for a short 13 and half years. He was rescued from an abusive situtaion when he was 4 months old, and while I was not "into" dogs, he made me a dog lover. He grew into 70 pounds of muscle with a bad attutide from his abusive puppy hood. He loved women and children, but with men, it was bite first and ask questions later. I spent a lot of energy keeping him from harming others and just gave him total love.  He got through his life without actually biting anyone. He had me wrapped around each paw, and I still miss him. I still have his bowl, his leash and harness, but have never taken on another dog. That has been a mistake; I see that now, and feel it is too late. My cats rule. A recent canine visitor to my house was attacked by the cats and had to leave for his safety.

So, Guy, give Yogi his due, then allow another dog into your life.

The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs has an adoption event coming up January 30th.

They specialize in adoptions of older, harder to place dogs.

They have an 8 yr old black lab that is adorable.

May he/she be eternally cursed by their malevolence being directed back toward themselves.

How hard this must be for you, Guy, and how lonely. I, was never lonely unless my last dog died. Then, since I can't work and get out very little, I was. So now I have two dogs, down from three after my health made it hard to keep up with one with a Jekyll/Hyde streak. I only got a dog five years after my first dog died because I realized I was still dreaming about him.

Does anyone know Johnny and June Cash's FAR SIDE BANKS OF THE JORDAN, where June says she thinks she'll be the first to go and she'll be waiting on the banks of the Jordan, drawing pictures in the sand, and when she sees him coming, she'll rise up and come a'running? This tearjerker, which I find comforting, reminds me of that.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all our special friends
so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine.
Our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and were old
have been restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed
are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our
dreams of days gone by.
The animals are happy except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who has been left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent. Suddenly he begins to run from the group,
his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted
and when you and your special friend meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face,
your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone
from your life, but never absent from your heart. . .

You then cross Rainbow Bridge together.

My heart dropped hearing about Yogi! Guy....we are keeping our candles lit and you both in our prayers... Yogi's spirit will not leave any of us-because  you made sure that he was forever part of the REALNEO TEAM...
