Rail Road Engineering - spectacular travel in CanadaSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 21:35.
Rail Road engineering is some of the finest engineering. The trains have to keep on schedule, and the tracks have to be always passable. In the image above, avalanche/dry landslide sheds deflect rock over the tracks on the Canadian National east of Vancouver, Canada. The telephone poles near the sheds have wires which trip an alarm if a rock hits the wire. Here is geology in constant flux, and our RR engineer's telepathy efforts. The Canadian Pacific track is on the south shore of the river. I may have the CN and CP reversed & and the Frazer and the Thompson - I am working on this. Any help out there?
Pretty neat - the horses along the valley have the same colorizations as the geology!
