THE CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART CELEBRATES ART DAY, AS PART OF THE 2016 CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS, AT PROGRESSIVE FIELD – HOME OF THE CLEVELAND INDIANS – IN CLEVELAND, OHIO!

On Saturday, May 7, 2016 – the Cleveland Museum of Art, established in 1916, celebrated Art day at Progressive Field as part of the ongoing centennial celebrations.

“Studio Go” – the museum’s Centennial Art Truck – a tastefully decorated white truck – made its debut appearance outside Progressive Field on a pleasant but overcast Saturday afternoon.

I visited the area, saw the Art Truck, spoke with the courteous and knowledgeable staff, and took photographs from outside Progressive Field. I was not witness to what was happening on the field.

The poster is based on an oil on canvas painting, in the museum’s collection, by R.B. Kitaj – an American artist (1932-2007) who was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio – not far from Cleveland. The 183 cm x 61 cm painting was produced between 1995-1998.
