STANDING AGAINST THE SWINGING PENDULUM IN CLEVELAND, OHIO

pendulum hitting dominos cleveland museum of natural history political gerrymandering cartoon brian cummins zack reedThis a political cartoon - inspired by the current discussion on Realneo concerning the re-districting of ward boundaries in the City of Cleveland, Ohio.  Councilor Brian Cummins has put the gerrymandering in the vary public and open debate.   I applaud him for going right at it.  I think he will end up standing, and I hope Mr. Reed does also - unlike the little plastic figures and wooden dominos - representing the mute and complacent City of Cleveland Council.    It is not coincidence that Mr. Cummins and Mr. Reed worked with the Putitontheballot.com referendum campaign to put the MEDCON sales tax on the ballot, and now the business establishment in Cleveland wants Cummins and Reed gone.  See Henry Gomez' comment about Reed's ward  on Bill Callahan's blog.

The photo is a mash up of the Foucault pendulum in the lobby of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
