Phillip Williams and I are pleased to have developed and host the social network for the near-50-year-old Cleveland Club of Washington, DC, at http://clevelandclub.org, and I just posted their next event, which sounds great... so I thought I'd post it here as well, in case any of you will be in DC Nov. 14th or know Clevelanders there... you/they should contact Brooke Stoddard (info below) to attend. Here's the invitation:

Please join us for a post-election analysis by author and former Plain Dealer reporter Tom Diemer. Tom's past post-election analyses have been both enlightening and delightful, as many can attest. Tom will discuss Northeast Ohio, Ohio and national election results. The floor, of course, will also be open to general political discourse: Recriminations, finger-pointing, Cassandra-like dire predictions and general argumentation will be welcome.

Soup-and-salad is $10 and the bountiful hot brunch is $12.50 (both include tax and tip). Drinks are extra. A $4 contribution to the Club is asked of non-Contributors. We will meet on Tuesday, November 14 at 12:15 in the McClendon Room of the Reliable Source Restaurant of the National Press Club, located at 529 14th Street, N. W., on the 13th Floor.

Make your reservation by emailing Brooke Stoddard.

CONTEST at the Club website at www.clevelandclub.org! Can you name the Clevelander addressing the Cleveland Club in the black-and-white Club Archives photograph? Can you also name the two men to his left and right? Suggestions for the website are welcome. Thanks to Norm Roulet and Phillip Williams of RealNeo in Cleveland for helping set up and run this site.

Ideas for future events are welcome. We expect to have a round of holiday cheer in mid-December at the Town & Country Lounge of the Mayflower Hotel. No agenda except for good fellowship and discussion of events in 2007, our 50th anniversary year.

Best to all. Brooke
