Montreal summer fireworks international competition - a great crowd pleaser

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 07/19/2011 - 21:25.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada has a summer program of spectacular fireworks.  The event takes place twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday.  The significance of the event is such that the main bridge crossing the St Lawrence River is closed to automobile traffic and becomes a pedestrian viaduct for the fireworks show.

This is significant.

People are given dominion over autos.

Time slows.

The thrill of our eyes and ears becomes dominant.

Montreal understands.

To put Montreal's wisdom in perspective, let's just say Cleveland has the MEDCON PIT at the Mall.
