The Tubbs-Jones Economic Impact Award is given to an individual, a CAAO Sponsor, and a CAAO member organization that demonstrate the spirit of CAAO by providing economic opportunities in the African American community of Northeast Ohio. “The winners are the cream of the crop who don’t only ‘talk the talk’, but ‘walk the walk’ when it comes to giving back and doing business with African Americans in Northeast Ohio,” says Theron Cyrus, Chair of CAAO. The 2005-6 winners are:
Entrepreneur Award – Woodrow Marcus, 3-D Visual Concepts
CAAO Member Organization – BDPA – Cleveland Chapter
CAAO Sponsor – Fifth Third Bank
The awards will be presented at CAAO’s 5th Anniversary /
Executive Auction Kick-Off Event. The invited award presenters are Cuyahoga County Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones and Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. This event will be held at the George J. McMonagle Administration Building from 5:30 – 9:30 PM. Limited tickets are still available to attend. Early bird (April 21, 2006) donation is $75 per person. After that date, the donation will be $105 per person. Paul Clark, President of the Northern Ohio Region of National City Bank, and Erwin Odeal, Executive Director of NEORSD, are the Honorary Co-Chairs for this event.
