On Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Cleveland Municipal Court the six men charged with beating a man into a coma at W. 21st & Denison Avenue will be back in court. Prosecutors allege that the victim was randomly chosen and that one of the six men brought his TEN-YEAR-OLD son to the crime scene so as to initiate him into the "21st Killas" gang. The attack was on Nov. 23rd, 2010 and the victim remains hospitalized with head injuries. Six other "boys" are charged in juvenile court. The Good news----law abiding residents worked with police to identify suspects. The six men represent well the ethnic diversity of Cleveland: three black suspects, two white, and one Hispanic. It's a victory for diversity. Fortunately, the real victory looks like it goes to the decent folks of the neighborhood who helped the police. That's guts standing for what really matters. Truly awesome.
