Thank you Gerald--for speaking out about this travesty.  This Mayor and Council President will forever be shamed when history reveals the criminal puppetry and real estate schemes behind the "Transformation Plan" for Cleveland schools.

The fake Bond Accountability Commission, Sanders/Burns' facilities plan and Sweeney-rigged landmark vote for the demolition of John Marshall High School especially merit scrutiny and prosecution by federal authorities.

But, it's the same old con.  I am grateful for your voice, Mr. Henley.  Please forward my comments to anyone you feel deserves to know the truth.

Thank you,

Laura McShane

Dear Chad,

It is "very sad" that you are promoting, and asking others to promote such a "non-educational, union busting, dismal, political, and divisive 'command' " that is "exclusive" to the city of Cleveland and the Cleveland schools!!!

Since you think so much of Mayor Jackson's "PONZI SCHEME," WHY DON'T YOU PROMOTE THIS "DISASTER" FOR YOUR DISTRICT OR FOR ALL OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS ACROSS OHIO!!!"

You have placed "politics" first, not students!! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!

Sincerely,

Gerald C Henley,

Last elected president of the Cleveland Board of Education!!!
Current president and spokesman for The  Urban Education Strategy Group

Please respond!!!

Gerald,

It’s time for transformative change.

All Ohio children deserve a great education, including the children of Cleveland. For too long, Cleveland's public schools have been failing, but Mayor Frank Jackson has made fixing the system a top priority. He has developed an aggressive plan that leverages best practices from across the country focused on developing an excellent teaching force and increasing the number of high quality public schools. But it needs your help to succeed.

The mayor's plan is the right thing for Cleveland's children. But in order to implement the plan, the state of Ohio must change certain laws which currently serve as barriers to the reforms. Fortunately, legislation is being considered that would do just that and empower Cleveland Public Schools to make the necessary changes. We need you to ask your legislators to support this bill.

Tell your legislators to support Cleveland's Transformation Plan

The Cleveland Transformation Plan would enable Cleveland to build an excellent teaching force by allowing the district to protect effective teachers and principals from layoffs and to reward effective educators with increased compensation. It would increase the number of students attending high quality public schools by providing meaningful school performance information to Cleveland families and creating fairer funding structures for high performing charter schools. The plan would also allow the district more flexibility in how resources were spent so money could be allocated to programs that truly meet student needs.

Cleveland public schools need the flexibility to implement innovative programs to turn the system around. Please contact your legislators and ask them to clear the path to better education opportunities for Cleveland kids. It only takes a minute using our simple tool:

Whether you live in Cleveland or in another Ohio city, we all have a responsibility to make sure every child gets a great education. Thank you for doing your part!
